The fundamental idea of A.D.P. comes from the meme for the definition of insanity. When the road you are on keeps taking you further and further from where you wanted to go, maybe it is time to try a different path.
@NYCMayor Don't know if Netanyahu is a war criminal, but I find it interesting how you all gloss over how this started with Gaza based terrorists killing near 1500 people.
Also how several Islamic extremist groups are committed to Jewish genocide. But Israel is the war criminals...
@PF3Machine@Rothmus While this can be true of religious fanaticism, it does not describe conservatives outside of religion.
I would go so far as to say that conservatives have more contact with evidence and reality since they deal with the real world, while academics deal mostly in hypotheticals.
@yasminarmendari@jacobin@ZohranKMamdani On paper socialism and communism sound great.
In practice I do not know of a single instances of either system that grew past ten thousand people without being used as a vector for corrupt individuals to take totalitarian control of a society.
@yasminarmendari@jacobin@ZohranKMamdani Yes and no. The problem that I am seeing when it comes to honest believers in socialism and communism is that there is a big difference between what you theorize in the halls of academia, and what you are actually able to create when you implement them in the real world.
@newmanusps71@jacobin@ZohranKMamdani I would love to see this: people creating little micro-societies where they can test out different systems of culture and government.
And I want to live in a country where that is doable, not a country where everyone is forced to follow one system dictated by those in power.
@JohnStossel@AdamThierer@RSI While I generally agree with the "progress creates more jobs than it destroys", AI is different, and I have yet to see any arguments that convince me it won't be catastrophic.
@ArielleScarcell It is the same thing for feminism. Once they acknowledge that they have accomplished their objective, the movement becomes useless to them. To keep the fear and anger, which translates to money and power, they must keep the "problem" alive and ever-present.
@UN_Women@UN Just want to take a moment to memorialize this tweet from an official UN account that is exhibiting anti-male sexism by calling for prioritizing females over males.
I am very concerned about what it will do to people when they start looking for places in real life that can't compete with the AI art. It will be a big letdown, and I worry about what sorts of emotional reactions it will trigger.
I know, still vague. My apologies.
I just realized that with AI generated images, we can now be inundated with a flood of impossibly beautiful imagery that real life can't compete with (reference to Hollywood's impossible female beauty standards).
What will it do to us when reality can't compete with AI art?
{continued} if I go on a road trip to look at real world waterfalls and nature scenes, I will inevitably be disappointed because they are far more drab than what I see online.
I already know how female beauty standards have skewed my scale for attractive women.
@PhilMickelson Unfortunately, if these were real, I am pretty sure the home owners would get sued for tens of thousands for boobytrapping the box with an explosive.
@SawyerMerritt Smaller, more maneuverable, more fuel efficient, less resources to build...
Sounds like a good plan to me.
If people need more seating they can either request an additional taxi or have a few special taxis with more seats.
