Police report submitted. Apple has been VERY helpful. Postmates / Uber? Head in the sand. A senior customer service rep at Apple took all of the information to figure out what happened and they are investigating.
...also @Postmates_Help you really can't pay for shit this good.
...obviously you didn't help, but even better, there was no "Original email from Helen at Postmates Customer Service."
You can ask Google for the gmail records to confirm? Just like my nest camera records ;)
... and lets just say I reactivated my twitter account after 10 years of being inactive because I'm sick of this shit. I feel a YouTube channel coming on soon about how to tear through all this malicious time wasting at scale. Congrats @Postmates ;).
Sorry to keep you all waiting. I was eating and talking to other humans. From what I can see @Postmates is thinking I'll simply go away if they don't move. I'm a woman scorned, not a t-rex. They're going to have a VERY interesting meeting about their @Apple contract....
...but knowing that they are going to have a really bad day does not outweigh my wasted day. People need to learn to stop wasting the time of people because they think they will go away if they are shitty enough long enough...
Also, @Postmates_Help and @Postmates and @Postmates_Help you were totally right, I should have been talking to them all along. Thanks for reiterating that. They were really interested to hear about my experience, analysis of how it happened, and documentation!
I just had a really great chat with a really smart and practical woman at Apple in one of their higher tiers of customer support. She gets the situation, took a all the right information, I'm going to get what I need, and people in similar situations are going to benefit :).
Speaking of hiding their heads in the sand...
@Postmates_Help@Postmates doesn't have a # or a chat you can just call. I'm not even really a customer, they were a sub contractor to @Apple. Technically with their head in the sand their cloaca is in the air however...
Also WTF google... I google ostrich thighs and I get the "People also ask:" as "Are ostriches sexually attracted to humans?" Who fuck is Googling that?!
Still no call back yet. Should have gotten one by now I'm going to call them again. Guess they're trying to bury their head in the sand. Problem is all this lack of treating me with respect is making me hungry and they've got juicy looking ostrich thighs.
@Postmates@Postmates_Help I'm currently on the phone with "jee" who's telling me that they understand that as a part of a theft committed by someone in your employ, I've been exposed as a potential target, and she "can't" give me information for a police report for my own saftey
I've back channeled some of the issues to friends of friends on the infosec teams at @Apple and @Postmates.
Additionally, I love the part where @Postmates_Help made it look like they wanted to help and to DM them... just to have them blow me off and say basically "
πcall ο£Ώ
Donald T. from @Postmates dropped off my phone. He was nice. I let him know he should put a different message on his voicemail so his real number isn't exposed, and he was thankful. After the delivery was done, the postmates site said competed, apple still says "Arrives today"...
instead of this. Meaning, if the name of the person was real, Apple did at one point have it. If they didn't that's interesting. Looks like I will have to give @Apple a call. @Postmates_Help still hasn't called me back though as agreed upon.
...and while that's a virtual phone number for Donald, and he isn't answering texts or phone calls, it redirects to his default voicemail greeting which helpfully reads out his real number. So that's a good tip to know in the future.
@Postmates_Help / @Postmates went all Bagdad Bob on me when I wanted to get the name of the thief saying they can't give it out, but, they will investigate. They probably don't even have the name...
I suspect part of whatever exploit is happening is that the thief can hide their identity. The courier's first name and last initial are there plain as day on that one BY DESIGN on the @Apple website
