It is reported from multiple Ṣaḥābah that the Prophet ﷺ is reported to have said
“Seek the successful fulfillment of your needs through secrecy, for indeed everyone who possesses a blessing is envied.”
ʿUmar ibn al-Khattāb (رضي الله عنه) said:
“If Allah blesses you with the affection of a fellow Muslim, then hold firmly to it as much as you are able.”
📖 al-Zuhd by Waki’ ibn al-Jarrah: 334
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه اللّه said:
“If one’s heart becomes attached
to something other than Allah, that thing will inevitably torment him: if he attains it, he suffers through it, and if he loses it, he suffers from its loss.”

595 — ...from Abū Hurayrah, who said:
“Al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn were wrestling, while the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was saying:
‘It is Ḥasan! It is Ḥasan!’
So Fāṭimah said:
‘Why do you say, “It is Ḥasan”?’
The Prophet ﷺ said:
‘Indeed, Jibrīl says:
Ash-Shāfi‘ī (رحمه الله) was asked:
“What are the most humiliating traits in a man?”
He replied:
“Excessive speech, spreading secrets, and trusting everyone.”

Abdullah Ibn al-Mubarak رحمه الله said:
"Nothing's at the level of spending for the family,
not even Jihad in the path of Allah."

If he feared the Fire of Jahannam the way he fears poverty, he would be saved from both.
If he desired Paradise the way he desires the dunya, he would succeed in both.
And if he feared Allah in private the way he fears the creation in public
Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) passed by a garbage dump and stood there for a while. When his friends around him felt disturbed by the smell of the garbage, he said:
This is the world that you are so eager for and over which you weep
Wiping Face When Supplicating
Sayyidunā 'Umar said
“Whenever the Messenger of Allāhﷺ would raise his hands in supplication, he would not lower them until he had wiped his face with them.”
Tirmidhī 3386
Imām al-Tirmidhī says هذا حديث صحيح
It is reported from Abdullah b. Umar:
When Umar b. al-Khattab رضي الله عنه arrived in Shām, he said to Abu Ubaydah رضي الله عنه:
"Take us to your home"
Abu Ubaydah said;
And what will you do with my home?
Umar replied: Just take us there.
Abu Ubaydah said, You only want
