Our extensible stand-alone DHCP/PXE/IPXE service has minimal overhead so it can be installed and provisioning in under 5 minutes on a laptop, RPi or switch https://t.co/lI3rpgv5Wx #OpenSource
@forrestbrazeal We've been using the term "distributed infrastructure" to include both multi-cloud, enterprise on-prem/colo and edge. It captures the idea that these are independent infrastructures that needs to be managed as a federated system.
Is Infrastructure Cool Again? Gartner Thinks So!
Honored to be recognized as a @Gartner_inc 2020 Cool Vendor for Cloud.

@alexellisuk Yes. We prefer it with @digitalrebar for running contexts (when our agent shifts from the remote machine to the service endpoint for "non-local" and meta operations. Powerful feature.
Does not require root. Faster install. Safer.
love this analogy! AND we're big bare metal fans too!
but... wow, we're doing so much more lately with day 2 platforms, distributed infrastructure and infrastructure as code.
This is an automation chain, not just discrete operational silos.
@mthiele10@readyforthenet@jamesurquhart Crossplane provides a k8s abstractions to different infrastructures, so closer to Terraform aaS.
@digitalrebar is an infrastructure life-cycle and control workflow that can start from bare metal. Our goal is autonomy for running the infra, not just interfacing to it.
helpful?
Lately, we've been quietly racking up both industry (global 10k machine deployments) and customer wins (@Gartner_inc Cool Vendor, yo!). Want to hear about the cool news coming soon?

Very excited for @rackngo to be included in @Gartner_inc "Cool Vendors in Cloud Computing" !!
Combining #IaC, self-managed software, multi-vendor APIs and a #distributed infrastructure control plane. Not easy to do and we're proud of the acknowledgement! Thanks!
@zehicle@devopsdotcom and a major update to our #Terraform provider (as prototype)! This short demo shows immutable provisioning bare metal w Terraform.

@loswillios@alexellisuk@Raspberry_Pi .@digitalrebar supports netboot/PXE for RPi just fine. if you include the runner, will also soft reboot. And.. we updated Linux kernels in last release, so it's current.
At Distance #DevOps Today, we're looking at how #MVP (min viable product) can fail and telling the story of bringing @digitalrebar to market.

Secure boot using the trusted platform module (TPM) is critical.
Our v4.3 enables TPM provision for a wide range of systems. Oh, and other key features like HA and improved image deploy too.
