Ben Affleck: "I’ve always been into computers. I can write pretty shitty Python scripts."
Interviewer: lol
Ben: "So obviously you convert the image into a tensor containing the batch, frame and RGB values of every pixel."
Interviewer: wtf
Ben: "Then run a convolutional neural network for edge detection and feature extraction."
Interviewer: jaw on floor
Ben: "It’s pretty simple."
I find it outrageous that frontier closed-weight LLMs inject statistics-based watermarks into the texts they generate for me.
I paid for this text; it belongs to me, and I don't want it to be marked in any way.
Furthermore, I'm 100% sure that such texts, when detected on a webpage, will decrease their relevance in web search results or result in an entire website shadowban by search engines.
So, to get rid of the watermarks on the AI-generated texts used on ChapterPal, I developed a watermark removal tool I call Dehydrate.
Watermark technologies such as SynthID used by Google and Anthropic and textGrain by OpenAI embed statistical patterns in the words used in these texts.
Dehydrate modifies these patterns by moving or replacing some words to make watermark recognition unreliable while preserving the meaning of the text and its individual sentences and paragraphs.
If you want to try it for free, you need a ChapterPal account: https://t.co/Vb3bgqzJ31
It's a quickly-made UI, so if you find any bugs, please let me know.
Facilities did an office inspection and found the mini-fridge under my desk.
“Personal appliances are prohibited.”
They put a red removal sticker on it.
I removed the sticker.
Put on an IT asset tag.
Ran an Ethernet cable from the back of the fridge into the wall.
Updated inventory:
DEVICE: SRV-THERMAL-04
TYPE: Auxiliary cooling appliance
OWNER: Infrastructure
CRITICALITY: High
Facilities came back.
Saw the asset tag.
Saw the network cable.
Wouldn’t touch it.
Three months later Security found SRV-THERMAL-04 during an audit.
They asked what business service it supports.
I opened the fridge.
Six Diet Cokes.
Two Red Bulls.
String cheese.
I told them it maintains temperature-sensitive IT assets.
Security asked why it has never transmitted a single packet.
“Air-gapped.”
They nodded.
The fridge passed the audit.
It is now officially classified as critical infrastructure.

GERMANY IN A NUTSHELL
The city of Düsseldorf, the seventh-largest in Germany, can no longer broadcast a live webcam of its historic Market Square because one (1) -- yes, one -- person filed a complaint with the state data-protection authority.
The silver lining is that we won't have to watch as all the other storefronts around the square gradually turn into KIOSKs, vape shops, and barbers.
