@joshwhiton@kasratweets Isn't that simply accumulating variation? Also, you can explore the fitness landscape in the future with mutations within an organism: a proportion of proteins you generate will have mutations due to translation errors, so an individual can "look ahead" a little bit.
@biomlsociety This is awesome! Any suggestions how I could participate with an existing team, as I am currently not associated with an academic institution, but have a lot of bioinformatics related experience.
Huge shoutout to the @AsteraInstitute Open Science Entrepreneurs in Residence. These folks not only launched risky projects so they could move the needle..but this week at our on-site, they threw themselves at the mercy of org leadership, open science advisors with literally hundreds of years of collective experience, the public, and more to stress test their ideas and implementation. This is what it looks like to be fearless. Super grateful for their focused commitment to building solutions for all of us! ❤️😍
Had an amazing time at #MicroConfUS24, learned a lot, connected a lot, and now have a much clearer roadmap of what to do when. Appreciate how easy it is to connected with everyone, great environment.
@miltimore79 This is so stupid. Homicide, etc don't spread via aerosols, those other deaths don't spread in the community through contact. It's not scary when the numbers are low, but if they aren't contained, the numbers grow exponentially. Have you learned nothing over the past year?
It's depressing navigating the java world now that #Oracle manages it. I just want to download a specific version, why do I have to create an account where you ask for all sorts of personal information. what a mess.
@BossyCowgurl84 @ascottpedersen Arms aren't protecting us from actual nazis and concentration camps right *now*. Actually, the pro-gun camp seems pretty ok with violent fascism. Seems like that argument is a crock.
I really want to use #GCloud, but the interconnected web of service accounts, roles, permissions, services, sub-projects, etc, is horribly painful. I spend literally days attempting the most basic stuff, and I do this for a living. It's impenetrable.
why is it so damn hard to get a private sql database with terraform and #googlecloud? the first thing you need for a server, and it's insanely opaque and complicated
@DuckDuckGo I really like DuckDuckGo, but...your name is terrible. I realize naming things is *hard*. But still, I feel like I'm using the kids version of search, which means it's safer, but with less functionality.
@steam_games Your mac client is *completely* broken on mojave. What's the deal? So I just can't play games on a mac now, and there's basically zero info from you about this? You need some competition, since you don't want to take my $$$
Big telecom wants to cut off the competition and eliminate your choice of providers (like @sonic). Take action today: Tell the FCC that you support your local competitive carrier! https://t.co/IDHOD46VCN
