@CompuIves Did the same thing with Node scripts today. Super fun! But when it started creating files, spawning processes and installing new packages I decided I needed a VM 😂
@pachatka@VanMoof Thursday they pushed the delivery date almost a month. I cancelled the order because it’s useless to me know. I passed on other bikes I could have had on time while they strung me along. I’m sure they knew they couldn’t deliver when they took my order. Scammy behavior @VanMoof
@pachatka@VanMoof Ordered the older model specifically for the delivery date.
Est DELIVERY on the order page was July 2 at the latest. Immediately after ordering, the earliest SHIPPING date was July 2. After asking about this they said it “might take two weeks to update”.
@btaylor Another counter point:
It’s not always clear that the refactored version is better than the original, but at least the original could be refactored.
Refactoring just for the sake of refactoring will eventually lead to code that can’t be refactored.
Peter Principle on code.
@mweststrate Don’t worry! The good thing with jokes about Immer and MobX is that it’s Always just the people who want to listen to them that get notified of them.
@dan_abramov I think I had a faulty mental model of a useEffect call as: it "belongs" to a component. After changing this to: it "belongs" to a render, a lot of these things started making sense. Does that seem like a useful way to think about it? Most of it then boils down to closures.
