This is my aunt.

She and my uncle left California for Nevada more than a decade ago. They both filed proper address change forms and registered to vote in their new state. My uncle — a registered Republican — stopped receiving election mail from California. My aunt — who was not a registered Republican — is still getting it.

Here’s the latest piece of official San Bernardino County election mail, sent to her current address in Las Vegas: a “Revised Party Endorsement page.”
They did everything right. The system still hasn’t caught up after ten-plus years.

Why is San Bernardino County wasting taxpayer dollars mailing election materials to people who no longer live in California? Is this simple incompetence and failure to clean voter rolls? Or is there another reason non-Republicans seem to stay on the list longer than Republicans who left the state?

This is exactly the kind of waste, inefficiency, and lack of basic accountability that defines too much of California government. Billions wasted on failed programs, bloated bureaucracy, and systems that can’t even keep basic records straight.
