@cessonmute My mother did a similar thing, but it was sharing incredibly intimate information with the JCPenney cashier when we went swimsuit shopping (naturally, only modest one pieces). I had told her everything until then, but when I got my first period, she didn't know for a year.
@meateatereater @human_xxoo@RepMikeCollins He told the murderer next to him on the cross that he would join him in heaven. He spoke to Samaritans and women that had been accused of adultery. So yes, he included those folks too.
@shawntifying Both my parents are alive, but my bestie of 26 years is my emergency contact. She has my boyfriend's number if she needs to reach him though.
@ask_aubry I'm 38 years old, and can't remember the last time I wanted to be a mother. But my mom still believes that because I wanted to be a SAHM when I was 6 that I should feel the same way still.
@ChrisJBakke If I wanted to talk to a mask, I'd go to Disney (I don't like making faux small talk w/ someone whose eyes I can't see). If I wanted a cocktail that required no garnish/skill, I'd make one at home & save $10. Many folks like interacting with a bartender they know, not a bot.
@dmsimon@kduggan16 I wasn't aware it was illegal in NY, but in southern CA I've seen people written up. We used to warn travelers who stayed at the hostel I worked at
@captaintrainor@reaghhan ..In doing this, I shall feel myself discharging the duty of a true patriot; for he is a lover of his country who rebukes and does not excuse its sins." Frederick Douglass.
@captaintrainor@reaghhan "No, I make no pretension to patriotism. So long as my voice can be heard on this or the other side of the Atlantic, I will hold up America to the lightning scorn of moral indignation...
@captaintrainor@reaghhan I'm late 30s but it frustrated me to no end as a county delegate for Bernie in '16 the looks of disgust from "adults" when I said he aligned w/ my beliefs >Clinton, + the way fellow delegates (& superdelegates) ran roughshod over younger voters. When does the youth get to speak?
@MONSTERBRYTON@zeketayler@ChappellRoan This a million times. She knows who is the best decision for this moment, but also is aware that Harris is not right on everything, and it is not the slap in the face folks are treating it as.
@captaintrainor@reaghhan I genuinely do not understand why parties and politicians (and parents! There's your alliteration for the day) act like it is a shot to the heart when someone (whether they are more or less educated on issues) does not 100% fully support a politician or party. We are nuanced.
@Xochi_Cocoa@CoraCHarrington I have ordered two things ever from Thredup and both times they sent something entirely different than what I ordered (jeans instead of a dress, for one), then said they had no idea where the items I ordered were.
@iodinefrog@churchofeve Elder millennial ๐ I did this for a number of yrs (I've used different brands of the Pill & NuvaRing) as my period was extraordinarily heavy & irregular. I would get a little spotting but generally that was it. Some versions of the Pill did make me more emotional but not all.
@bigriglost@jokesonyoukid@SteezyyTommyy@barbqlays@ninifems I don't know. After years of worrying that my then-partner would hurt himself, I was so tired of it that I told him if he truly didn't want to be a burden, he'd better find a way that didn't involve me "finding" what was left of him.
@QueenMab87 I used to live in a city that until April had a U+2 rule, meant that no more than 3 unrelated adults could live together, no matter how big the house, creating massive housing problems bc people couldn't rent out or use their extra rooms. My old nghbrhood was full of empty rooms.
@KesSkirata@TEStoneWrites Same. Even when I was still believing the same as my family, as a teen I remember asking my mother if our side had won (Bush the second), why was Rush still so angry?
@MorganJerkins Regardless of whether he should have used Tupperware or not, y'all know if she had spelled it out to him he would have been insulted and said she was micromanaging or criticizing him.
@theashleyray When I had my own place I decided it was shoes-off, when my dad came to visit he called me a hillbilly for requesting that he take his shoes off ๐ค While my carpets were old, they were light colors & I couldn't financially replace them right away, and steam cleaning is expensive!
