"I’ve been down this slippery slope before.
The short term hit of approval at work turns into a longer-term addiction.
As all the other sources of external validation get neglected the esteem of work colleagues becomes a drug of choice."

@MoneyBuffalo I'm not an expert but isn't it more about it not being cold (rather than the heat itself)? So people are outside more and gather indoors both less frequently and for shorter periods.
But what do I actually know!
@APurpleLifeBlog I totally have a voice in my head. Increasingly that voice is coming out loud as well.
The best development in that though is that when that voice tries to talk me down I'm getting happier at telling it off.
@FrugalishMD Understandable.
We've moved to National Security level: 'Well that's a bit irritating isn't it?'
Lots of loud tutting when we see people carrying two packs of toilet paper.
I think we're only hours away from people refering to a Blitz Spirit.
It's a jungle over here... 😄
"Should we dream small then?
Should we give up on our dreams altogether?
Do dreams lead to misery whether you achieve them or not?"

"In the FI community the stories of those who achieve their financial goal and then end up lost are legion.
We get so focused on the process and the journey we lose sight of why we are doing it."

"As I dig down though I realise that the toughest layer of all is stripping away what I “expect” myself to want.
Challenging the avatars of my past to explain why they thought they wanted what they wanted."

"When I get tempted to fall into what society tells me will make me happy, I listen to the voice of an angel that touched the sun and was burned.
And then, having fallen to earth, is rebuilding her dreams."

@ChainsClipping @Vanguard_UK Good job...but it feels like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic now (even though I know we likely won't even remember this in a year's time!)
Man alive, what a rollercoaster!
Decided to tidy up an old pension and move it to @Vanguard_UK at the end of Feb.
Bounced up and down by 10% at times as it went in and out of the market.
Settled at c. 3% down from the start of the year...I'll take that!
@ElyssaJK Honestly there are few things better in life than a proper all butter croissant straight out of the oven.
I have no advice only empathy and sympathy...
