Where are the resources for moms post divorce of a #narcissist? How do you deal with the continued #abuse#harassment, and threats when you share a child with your tormentor? Is there any hope for peace??
@TakeCourageMom We have all had our highs and incredible lows going through the process of breaking free. I don’t know how many times I despaired and said “he will never let me go, I’ll never be free.” But here I am, finally free. You got this.
@MsBlakeTaylor God help you. Mine has cost around $250k. Same thing, delay tactics, lies, unnecessary motions and filings to drag things out and make me respond. Thank God the divorce is final, but he has made it clear he won’t stop. There has to be better protection for victims breaking free.
@BerylGonePink God help you. Mine has cost around $250k. Same thing, delay tactics, lies, unnecessary motions and filings to drag things out and make me respond. Thank God the divorce is final, but he has made it clear he won’t stop. There has to be better protection for victims breaking free.
@BerylGonePink I’m incredibly lucky. GAL was a psychiatrist, saw through his lies. Then he gave her 100GB of recordings where he interrogated our son. GAL called it disturbing. He dug his own grave. Different evaluator and he could be the desperate dad protecting his son from abusive mom.
@BerylGonePink He essentially used the court to further his abuse of me and the court did nothing to stop it. I had $100k in legal fees directly related to his delay tactics and his excessive filings. I was only granted $20k of that, and he has yet to pay. Not holding my breath.
@BerylGonePink YES. I am so blessed that I had a good GAL, some people aren’t so lucky, or don’t even know that GALs exist. Without her my divorce would have been an absolute train wreck. Start to finish I’ll be paying the $250k it cost me for the rest of my life, but worth it for custody.
@BerylGonePink Yes. I can’t protect myself from his abuse and they don’t protect me from it either. Judge kept giving him breaks. I was blessed to have a Guardian Ad Litem who sifted through the “evidence” he presented and called it bullshit. Without that I don’t know what would’ve happened.
@exhellno Respond with “your attempt to portray me in a negative light has been noted.” From the book “Divorcing a Narcissist: alone Mom’s Battle.” I highly recommend it.
@BerylGonePink Exactly. Mine is constantly collecting “evidence” that I am preventing him from talking to our son. He is the one not calling according to the agreement. He invents problems where there are none and calls them evidence.
You know what’s the worst part? After being with a narcissist for too long you lose your ability to tolerate bullshit. It makes me so angry when I am treated the way he used to treat me. When people use those techniques. I have to walk away, but it leaves friendships in tatters.
@BerylGonePink It works with normal human beings. Narcissists are not normal human beings. That was my biggest struggle with the court system, they act as if they are dealing with a reasonable person who wants the best for their child. It’s the exact opposite.
@BerylGonePink I feel your pain. 50/50 with someone who is selfish, destructive and can’t coparent is not just impossible but an incredible burden. You never have the downtime needed to repair the damage to you or your child. I am so sorry.
