@saminacodes I remember my first coding assignment, I was actually studying Civil Engineering at the time, they told me to do something with Matrix on MatLab and I didn't understand what writing text on a file had to do with coding, or what it was supposed to do, I was very confused.

@AbdGeeky @saminacodes We do share a border and I know at least in a couple of places you can just cross the street to the other country yes : ). I haven't been to one myself though, only crossed that border twice as a kid but didn't stay in it.

@saminacodes So a funny? story I'm a native Spanish speaker and English is my second language, but being a developer I do speak English on a daily basis with clients and other coworkers. A couple months ago something was brought to my attention,...

@saminacodes it's been very difficult to start changing pronunciations when a Spanish name comes up in a conversation since I have to change how my mouth is positioned for just one word and then go back. And it never occurred to me that it would bother someone, as it never bothered me.

@saminacodes When I speak English it's like I turn a switch in my mind and start pronouncing everything in English, even my name people in English tend to pronounce different than in Spanish of course and so would I, it just feels natural, ...

@saminacodes ...one of my Spanish speaking and Spanish named coworkers didn't like how I pronounced their name when I was speaking English, it had _never_ occurred to me to think about it.
