Coach Cal’s right — administration matters. But at the high school level, it takes more than that.
You need administration that believes in you, coaches/players that are all in, parents that get involved in program, and a community that doesn’t just cheer on Friday nights… but financially supports the program too.
Great high school programs aren’t built by one person. They’re built when everybody is invested — with their time, their trust, and their resources.
If everybody isn’t rowing the boat in the same direction, don’t complain when the whole thing ends up spinning in circles.
Everybody wants change.
Everybody wants success.
Everybody wants that next level.
But here’s the truth—wanting it doesn’t move you closer.
Habits do.
Don’t just dream about it.
Be about it.
“It's refusing to lose over wanting to win. Everyone wants to win, but it's having that never give up mentality. It's attacking every day.” -- P. J. Fleck
Parents…
There are very few things that you can say from the bleachers that will ever make your child play better.
Just sit back and enjoy the game, cheer for your child, cheer for the team, and take it all in!
It will be much more enjoyable for everyone.
Championship Saturday!!
Time of year to see if all the blood, sweat and tears during the course of year have paid off. Time for players to come together and coaches to be at the top of their game, put in the extra time and knowing what to do at any given opportunity.
PLAYERS: Your shot might be off, but your hustle never should be. You can't always control every factor in a game but you can always control your effort. Hustle and effort are talents that you can excel at regardless of size, strength, or speed. HUSTLE NEVER HAS AN OFF-DAY!
If your coach holds you accountable, you are VERY fortunate. A lot of coaches accept their players doing whatever they want, whenever they want with no consequences. Discipline/responsibility/accountability are life prep! If your coach cares that much, you’re lucky so respect it!
