“Rupert Murdoch succeeded where Vladimir Putin failed. He turned Americans against each other, promoting anger, hatred and lies. Murdoch knew Trump’s claim the election was stolen was a lie but Fox News persuaded millions of Americans that it was true.” https://t.co/jO3ur4B8OU
Make sure you ignore this psychotic ignoramus. He has the financial sophistication of a goldfish swimming in Vodka-spiked water.

@mattyglesias “Given the low risk profile of our activities and business model, such a result would stifle our ability to provide credit to our clients without any meaningful corresponding reduction in risk.”

I am 100 percent on-board with much-delayed introduction to the smart phone for teens, but there's also a major collective action problem. As we witnessed with our youngest, there is a social isolation component when you're the last friend without the phone. /2
@stautistic Please define “software decay”. I have no idea what that means, and I operate software that is decades old that nearly everyone here has used and is using.
@JoshDaws I don’t think that’s it. It’s the belief in business that everything has to grow all the time, and that shrinking is the worst thing imaginable, that leads to a lot of this kind of thing.
The motto of prime time Fox News: “There go the people. I must follow them, for I am their leader.” And follow them they did, straight into a morass of lies and conspiracy theories that should undermine Fox’s credibility for years to come. https://t.co/CBx42CdYRR
@JoshDaws@RettCopple The solution might be to turn off the phone and go outside? I honestly think things were worse in the past, but feel worse now because it’s in our faces 24/7. In the 80s I had no idea what someone in LA was doing.
@JoshDaws@RettCopple We’ve had issues like this for all of American history. I don’t understand why people think things are radically different now. Democracy is the ebb and flow of different sides getting some of what they want sometimes. The Roe decision should make you optimistic, no?
@RettCopple@JoshDaws I don’t understand what winning and surrender means here. The core premise of democracy is that we have a non violent means of resolving our disagreements. What do you think winning means, if not persuasion in a democratic process?
@JoshDaws I guess I don’t think our current times are different or worse than before. If anything I think it’s better. Nothing today is as significant as the moral disagreement over basic civil rights.
This is happening basically every day across this country and it is so sick, and amounts to a kind of psychological torture at the hands of the state. Just unspeakably gruesome.
