Santa: y'know how long it takes to make a list of every child in the world? And y'know what I do when I finish the list?
Jake Humphrey: *nodding* deliver the presents
Santa: *shaking his head* check it twice mate
Jake: *grinning* fucking hell
Manchester City are devastated to learn Ricky Hatton has passed away, aged 46.
Ricky was one of City’s most loved and revered supporters, who will always be remembered for a glittering boxing career that saw him win world titles at welterweight and light-welterweight.
Everyone at the Club would like to send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.
We can confirm there will be a minute’s appreciation ahead of today’s game against Manchester United.
It’s actually mad he’s getting dragged for having the first bad season of his career, SEVEN years in, after winning 6 titles (4 of which he contributed immensely), a CL, 2 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, PFA & PL young player twice and PFA & PL POTY… What are we doing here?!
@ManCityHelp please can you follow me back so I can DM you? Getting this error when downloading my season ticket even tho it’s not on any other devices
All the Arsenal gloating and “stay humble” stuff works if you’re 10 points clear or something.
Not if you are six behind having played a game more and haven’t won a title for two decades.
Manchester City has had this effect on so many people who the media thought would only stay a few years. David Silva, Aguero, KDB, Pep, now Erling. The truth is behind the scenes, City is THE place to be in the Premier League. Best run club in the country, best facilities, best in class in every department.
Just want to point out that if @ManCity would have charged £0 for every single ticket for every single game in every single cup last season for all stands AND the corporate hospitality, then they would have still made a profit.
Hope the various fan groups point this out to them.
Powerful gesture from both sets of fans, highlighted when YNWA starts and the home fans sing and the away fans boo/whistle. The rivalry will always be there but sometimes you’ve got to stick together - the fans groups have made a big statement
The worm is finally turning with regards to the over zealous financial regulations in the PL. Martin Samuel has long been pilloried as a shill for City, but outside of the tribal football bubble, more and more people can see that he's been right all along.
The regulations have not improved sustainability, or competitiveness. They were always about protecting a status quo, and that is why over a decade after the first set of FFP regulations appeared, the richest clubs are richer, and the divide between them and the rest is bigger than ever.
City are part of that status quo now, so this isn't even about us. It's about what effect these rules have had on the English game. You can't have unfettered investment at the top clubs, but limit what smaller ones can do without creating the divide we now see.
The idea that Liverpool, United, Arsenal et al have had 'organic' growth is laughable. The idea that smaller clubs should grow 'organically' is a cute way of saying 'don't you dare try and compete with us'. The sooner Richard Masters is gone, the better. He's been a catastrophic appointment for the league as a whole.
