It’s Texian Navy Day! In fall 1835, the provisional Texas government established a navy of 4 ships: Liberty, Independence, Invincible, & Brutus. These navy ships & privateers patrolled the Gulf, protecting valuable trade routes to New Orleans.

Unbelievable. A restaurant at Fort Concho (San Angelo) in 1875. As you can see, it's made of adobe and it appears that one wall is being supported by a wooden post. A remarkable display of human ingenuity, will, and entreprenurial spirit!
