Interesting lawsuit happening in NYC. Someone tried (and succeeded for a while) in using AirBnB to run what is essentially a string of hotels. Could be good to bring this up and see what AirBnB is doing to prevent this when we meet next week #BCSTT

@PCarpenter_ The article raises a really good point that while having enough computing power (51%) to take advantage of Bitcoin is unlikely, there are plenty of cryptocurrencies that require far less. This is concerning if we want to keep blockchain techs as decentralized as possible #BCSTT

@rachel_duquette @HuangduBC You would think WBG would want Spotify to expand to increase their own profit but apparently not? Maybe they think they can get more by making a fuss. Regardless it is clear the future of music is streaming so these labels need to work with Spotify or risk falling behind #BCSTT

@vining_jordan I think one of the problems we are going to see is with economic disparity. Access to AR could significantly improve ability to work, access information, and communicate effectively. Those who don't have it will be isolated from these advantages and our new "mirror world" #BCSTT

@Jingttj Surveillance capitalism is worrisome because companies are now able to profit just by watching us use their platforms. This means to make money the platform doesn't have to increase human happiness, it can just be addictive and data generating. #BCSTT
