Picket Lines will be up THIS FRIDAY at 7:00 am at @yvrairport !!
Almost all of the increase in the federal deficit for last year was due to a one off legal settlement in favour of indigenous Canadians. And most new spending is on business subsidies. Yet the right continue to claim that social spending is out of control! https://t.co/l8NX7HCiJK
@EricDLombardi@JessicaBellTO If I am killed or injured by a cyclist who is riding on the sidewalk because the bike lanes have been removed, can I sue the Ford government?
@CycleToronto One point I think bike lane advocates should make - I'm a senior and I don't ride a bike. Without bike lanes, more and more cyclists will ride on the sidewalk, especially in areas of heavy traffic, This endangers me and other vulnerable pedestrians.
I’ve sat in committee all day listening to people speak about Bill 212, the bill that speeds up highway construction and rips out bike lanes.
Not a single person has come to speak in support of ripping out the Yonge, Bloor, and University Ave bike lanes, and restricting municipalities from creating new bike lanes.
Not a single one.
If people are wondering what’s with all the lockouts in major sectors like railways, ports, airlines, etc. It’s this employer assoc conspiring and colluding to disrupt the economy in an attempt to have govt override decisions of the Supreme Court. They hate workers having rights.
The only antidote to despair over national politics will be to generate and expand new solutions at local, state, and regional levels. https://t.co/HJl0Ipytfe
Premier Doug Ford should fix the homelessness crisis, not attack the poor.
On Monday, he told people living in encampments to get off their A-S-S and get a job. These comments are insulting, ignorant and harmful.
Instead of scolding the poor, the Premier needs to get off his A-S-S and solve Ontario’s growing homelessness crisis.
Let’s begin by matching federal government funding to tackle homelessness and encampments, and building the 250,000 affordable and non-market homes we need.
Stop making negative remarks about people who are struggling to survive.
Work with us to solve the housing crisis.

This is our city. It should be affordable for everyone. 🏠
Every year thousands of residents in Toronto are illegally evicted because their landlord says they need to renovate. No tenant should go through that.
That’s why I’m excited that @cityoftoronto is developing a new renovictions Bylaw, and tenants can speak up and share their opinion on it until September 30.

No, we are not prepared. No extra ER beds, hepatologists, livers for transplant, suicide hotlines, psychiatrists, addictions workers, addictions beds, detox beds, or EMS crews. Ontario policy is reckless. By @Megan_Ogilvie

Investment of public $$ to enable a private #ForProfit delivery stream didn't ⬆️ surgeries, or ⬇️ wait times.
There ARE evidence-based measures to reduce wait-times in the public system.
"Why are they ignored?"
Easy to answer that, at least in Ontario

When alcohol policy is made by Ontario Conservatives there is little interest in understanding the harms costing taxpayers far more than the income generated. Convenience above competence and stupid is smart is how Premier Ford's team shapes policy.

@cjc_TO TENANTS WIN INTERIM ORDER FOR RELIEF!
LTB orders Barney River to fix ALL issues in people’s homes!
This is a massive win for tenants whose homes have been in a state of disrepair for YEARS.
This order came from the LTB, but it’s because 300+ tenants organized together✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼
The cancellation of 48 school-based child care projects across Toronto will delay families’ access to much-needed child care.
We need the provincial gov’t to reverse this decision and provide funding to get shovels in the ground.
Thank you @PerruzzaTO for your advocacy.
