@ARanganathan72@J_A_C_S I'm following you and your speaches from last couple of years sir!! It feels very happy to know that this Indian chemist is your mother. I first read about her when I joined PhD in organic chemistry at IISER Tirupati last year. Here is the wall portrait of your mom in our dept.
Today, as on every single day, remembering Dr Darshan Ranganathan, my mother, my inspiration. She authored 16 @J_A_C_S papers from India, when just 1 can make a career; never received a single Indian award, never cared.
She died of cancer on her sixtieth birthday, June 4, 2001.
Now that we are normalising the term Sindhu Sarasvati Civilisation (SSC), let us also take this opportunity to normalise the term, Whitesplaining.
Whitesplain (Verb)
/wʌɪtspleɪnɪŋ/
When a white person explains to an Indian, in a condescending way that assumes they have no knowledge about their own history, culture, language and Gods.
Usage: Audrey was called out when she started whitesplaining the Pashupati seal and invented some Proto-Elamite mumbo jumbo.
@muheediva01 Because they want to know a few things 1) will you leave this job for the same reason 2) did you have issues in your prev job that will be a problem 3) did you leave on your own or get laid off etc
