On a personal level, I feel sad for Keir, who is a decent man. He had the wrong people around him from the start, inherited Tory decimation of the UK, and a fractured Labour. Those who think Andy Burnham is going to radically change the political landscape are either stupid or naive.
It looks increasingly likely that this time next week neither Streeting nor anybody else will have challenged Starmer and Burnham will not have secured a by election to return to the Commons. Some of the press reporting over the last few days has been disgraceful.
For the people who genuinely admire Nigel Farage, there is something wrong with your moral compass. I don’t mind saying that at all. It is incomprehensible that you cannot detect the ethical absence in him.
We've officially arrived in the Top 3 best months.
1. May – Bank Holidays, longer days, perfect balance of warmth without it being too hot.
2. June – Peak sunshine, summer energy & everything just feels alive.
3. July – Full on summer mode, festivals, holidays & long evenings.
@DougWahl1 The minute the R&A announces that Turnberry is going to host again, it would fail to be “the Open” and it would become “The Trump Open Championship” - simple as, the owner is the problem, not the golf course it’s self
Has the Ryder Cup been ruined by greed?
Fans will need to pony up around $590 USD to attend in Ireland. For one single day.
It was $750 in the USA.
Basically normal working people are getting priced out of all big sport events.
The World Cup is running $1k a ticket or way more. So maybe this isn’t bad, it’s just the new reality.
Everyone wants experiences, but that means demand outstrips supply and everything gets expensive.
Supply and demand always wins in the end.
@PickensBurgh Win the masters and you can do whatever you want 🤷🏻♂️ simple as that. If I had a green jacket and the opportunity to play there as and when possible, I’d practically live on property, as would anyone given the chance
If you don’t like Rory, you need to check yourself. Holy fuck. Right now is why golf is so fucking great.
Not to drive money into his pockets, but @AlanShipnuck did an amazing job telling the story, and more importantly to those who don’t get it, the context, to Rory. I highly recommend anyone who watches pro golf to grab a copy of that. You’ll appreciate this weekend and the last few years much more.
Seve: 9 PGA Tour wins, 50 Euro Tour wins, 5 majors
Faldo: 9 PGA Tour wins, 30 Euro Tour wins, 6 majors
Rory: 30 PGA Tour wins, 21 Euro Tour wins, 6 majors
One of those guys only turns 37 next month. I think the debate over greatest European golfer ever can be put to rest.
The last 20 seconds here are a good view into why Rory is one of the most unique (and human) superstar athletes of the last few decades. Very rare to be that great. Very unusual to be that vulnerable. There's nobody quite like him.
This is something I have been worrying a lot about. We have psychopaths waging this war. We have seen Netanyahu gleefully carry out a genocide in Gaza reducing it to a nuclear bomb site. Why would he not go further now in Iran? There has been absolutely no consequences for his war crimes in Gaza. Trump has only assisted them. This has got to stop. As the citizens of the world we have to stop this. They can not be allowed to carry out a nuclear strike on the millions of innocent people of Iran. These are our fellow human beings, regardless of their leaders. This is insanity.
A university named after a British royal is ‘a cold house for unionism’. How embarrassing for talking points from 30+ yrs ago to be doing the rounds again. This hardy annual nonsense row should not be accepted.
Truly a privilege to go again. With Adare Manor hosting and the 100th Anniversary of the Ryder Cup, it is going to be a very special week
Let’s go! 🇪🇺🇮🇪
