Monica and Ximena Martinez are inspiring examples of our mission in action. Through the sister’s lifelong participation in the Framingham Heart Study, alongside our former @American_Heart president and study lead, @dmljmd, they have been essential in helping shape the longest-running and most significant cardiovascular research project of its kind.
I had the privilege of sharing Monica and Ximena’s relentless journey on my @thrive blog: https://t.co/HbCGcMqCw2
The participants of the #FraminghamHeartStudy are the most dedicated people on the planet! So grateful for them. And you should be too. They continue to change the world and save countless lives.

@venkmurthy@drjohnm From this paper
“No patients underwent invasive coronary angiography during the 6-month follow-up.”
… which was the topic of discussion
@venkmurthy From the paper you cited above
“No patients underwent invasive coronary angiography during the 6-month follow-up.”
… Which is what we were talking about
@venkmurthy Come on Venk. Seriously? If we wait for USPSTF we won’t prevent any CVD given their restrictive rules of engagement. And remember COR comes from assessment of benefit vs harm. Hard to argue with a COR 1 any more.
@drjohnm Hi John- Your main point is right. CAC in an asymptomatic patient should NEVER lead to coronary angio and risk of reflexive stent. But your argument about the widespread occurrence of this seems anecdotal. Got any data that this is happening commonly now?
