Christian Pulisic is back!
Yes, he scored his first goal of the season, but for me, the goal wasn't the biggest positive.
What excited me most was seeing glimpses of the Pulisic Milanisti have been waiting for.
His movement behind the defence, intelligent positioning and composure in front of goal gave Milan a different attacking dimension. He also brought energy, creativity and unpredictability whenever he was involved.
That version of Pulisic will change this Milan team.
If he stays fit and continues building on this performance, Milan will become a far more dangerous side this season.
I am ready for an incredible new week.
Money, success and joy flow to me effortlessly.
I am open to every miracle and every bit of magic headed my way.
I am always exactly where I need to be and the timing of my life is perfect.
I affirm. ๐
Worst of all is that most Pioli fans who have forgotten that Boban and Maldini stuck their necks out for Pioli not to be sacked to be replaced by Rangnick and instead he was given more time to thrive, these are the same fans who now want Amorim sacked.
You can't make this up!
I still believe in Rรบben Amorim's project.
The difference between me and some of you his supporters most especially his Manchester United fans supporters is that I won't ignore his flaws. If I see tactical issues, I'll point them out instead of finding excuses to vindicate his tactical choices.
I'm a Milanista first. My loyalty is to AC Milan, not to any coach or player but I'll always support a manager who can restore the style of football that made me fall in love with this club, but that won't stop me from speaking out when the coach is making tactical blunders.
If Milan truly want to compete for top spots in Serie A and challenge for the Europa League trophy, as Amorim has stated, then the team must stop reacting to matches and start controlling them from the first whistle.
For me, that's the next step in this project.
FT: MILAN 0 BENFICA 2
Trust me, this wasn't a bad game as the scoreline tries to make it look.
Yes, we could have defended better and we could have made better decisions in the opponents box. But overall, we played like a team that just needs to build a solid chemistry and this can only be achieved if Amorim sticks with the appropriate starting 11.
I know my takes can be very unpopular but there were a lot of positives to take from this game. At least we know Cisse and Hutchinson still need to grow. Bartesaghi and Estupinian have to be shipped. De Winter is a monster. Gila, Moreira and Ramos are key signings that MUST be deployed as much as possible, Rabiot, Musah, Jashari, Pulisic and Pavlovic can do better.
All in all, it was a solid test. The team will grow.
I don't think Amorim should rotate too heavily against Benfica.
The Europa League isn't a competition Milan should treat as secondary, especially at this stage of the season.
Building momentum is just as important as managing fatigue.
For me, the strongest available XI should start the game, establish control and put Milan in a winning position, then use the bench to manage workloads, not the starting lineup.
Winning breeds confidence, and confidence builds consistency.
@oJOE_archives@JamesTactics Yeah, because lazio fans are protesting against their owner and boycotted coming to the stadium. Milan fans are much in the stadium by the way.
