@corptocracy@glennbeck The job of interpreting the text is not as cut and dry as youโre pretending it is. Itโs shockingly difficult and there is nowhere near only one way to interpret what the text of the constitution says and means, even with the primary sources of the federalist papers
@corptocracy@glennbeck I have read the federalist papers. These are the evidence we use to infer intent. The federalist papers are NOT proof that the constitution is not up for interpretation. You are factually incorrect and maybe you just donโt know what interpret means but courts interpret every day
@corptocracy@glennbeck It is absolutely subject to interpretation, thatโs SCOTUSโs whole job. Even with this ruling they disagreed about what โsubject to the jurisdiction thereofโ means in the constitution. Intent needs to be inferred from evidence since founders are dead and that takes interpretation
@corptocracy@glennbeck Again, lol, what the citizens want is kind of irrelevant. If it goes against what the constitution says, the constitution needs to be changed and thatโs not SCOTUSโs job. Their job is to interpret what the constitution says right now
@corptocracy@glennbeck SCOTUS has never and will never represent the citizens of the United States. It has always been a body to interpret the constitution. It is not supposed to make decisions based on popular opinion but on the actual text of the constitution, and thatโs what happened today
@HansMahncke No fucking way you lunatics think amy coney fucking pro life Barrett will be siding with leftists. Democrats donโt even side with leftists. Do you hear yourselves
@darkprometheus1@Jack_Reeee@scotus_wire No I do understand. I donโt believe in your unnamed โtheyโ who no one has ever been able to catch that you think is meddling in elections despite republicans winning more often than dems do. Thereโs phrase Election Day doesnโt mean it has to be over that day
@Jack_Reeee@scotus_wire I donโt see the problem. Are you not able to handle the idea that you just canโt call a race on the day of or that if it looks one way one day it might change as more info comes in? This is just a normal part of adult coping and people who cant do this see therapists
@HistoryBoomer We do. We dont want landlording to be a full time job. We donโt want you to be able to charge enough rent that you can live on the profit. We want you to only extract enough money that the mortgage and utilities get paid, and then your benefit is the equity you obtained for free.
@xwanyex Many democrats and everyone on the actual left are vocally anti white supremacy. If that offends you and looks to you like being anti white then that says more about you than it does about the people youโre talking about
@FedRecruiter@cnnbrk It does not. There is a dubious claim going around that 80% of people want voter id, but the save act is not just a simple voter id bill and has nowhere close to 80% backing it
@NHHome12@cnnbrk The equity is the payoff. Thatโs the investment. Sucking enough money to profit through the year on top of gaining home equity should be illegal
@jimscard@broken_padre@Selene_Mariposa Over half of the employed people are able to get insurance thru their work. When our system ties healthcare to your job but doesnโt require jobs to provide it, what tf are you supposed to do? 51% of us can easily rely on charity care? Yea ok.
