@sariverse What’s frustrating is they pretend these rules they just invented from nothing have always existed or are somehow normal.
Meanwhile older couples are like wtf is happening
my bf went to watch a movie with my best friend without me last week (i don’t do horror) and it made me so happy bc i want the ppl i love to also like each other and form relationships. many of these “rules” are honestly just built on insecurity
@TheDivineFrog He might not be “bad” but he isn’t normal and thus isn’t safe unless you are confident you can take him.
Normal men don’t act anything remotely like this
@ulxma@offbeatorbit Its why “girls nights/boys nights” originally became a thing.
You needed to specify or else it was just assumed your significant figure was invited as well.
@offbeatorbit Basically.
Time and how the relationship ends(if it does) is what matters for normal people in real life.
I know people who got married after 6 months Idgaf about beyond social obligations vs people who have been dating 5 years I consider real friends.
We got married like two months before he died. I was his girlfriend for most of that time, so I really don't think that matters. Time, arguably, does, but the label less so.
@heyjoydoe I’m the man but typically its stuff where hobbies don’t overlap with my wife but do with her friends?
Card game events or certain movies.
Sometimes I only one of us will go to support an event or pick some up from the airport when the other can’t make it
Typical friend stuff?
I mean, while it would probably make stuff a little awkward for a while, me assuming that our friendship up to that point is fake would be psychotic and incredibly self centered lmao
