🚨 Root Reborn creates a new market for $TAO yield 🚨

Before @opentensor’s v441 upgrade, subnet alpha paid to root was automatically sold into $TAO, treating every subnet the same.

Now yield accrues inside validator-specific baskets. At launch, each dividend stays in the subnet that produced it — no forced trade, no mechanical sell pressure.

Once curation opens, validators will weight subnets and redeploy yield across their chosen baskets.

Root stakers remain staked in $TAO, but accrued yield moves with basket performance. Better allocators can attract more stake. Stronger subnets can attract more capital.

Root is becoming Bittensor’s on-chain capital allocation layer. 👀

Before Root Reborn, subnet pools received about 1,321 $TAO per day.

Then the protocol automatically sold alpha worth 983 $TAO per day back out.

Just remember we had no conviction.

The code simply sold.

That means 74% of the daily injection was being drained almost immediately.

Only 338 $TAO per day remained as net support.

Root Reborn shut that automatic seller off.

The full 1,321 $TAO per day can remain inside subnet pools.

Now created by stopping that drain.

Net support jumped 3.9x without printing one extra $TAO.
