@akm515@jack@blocks@Block Literally has nothing to do with AI, efficiency.
Just a bit of carefulness on their product.
I just can't believe at that time I have to open square, half of times are always timeout/white screen/error, for both website and mobile app.
@akm515@jack@blocks@Block Over the last several years, I witnessed several businesses moved away from square due to how bad the app&website are.
Hard to use, find info, constantly error and outage.
It seems like nobody cares, I bet jack never used their own app, just feel like AI will amplify their issue.
@benchatenu@eonem It really depends.
Ironically many kids exposed to competitive programming in their earlier age can become the most arrogant ppl you ever worked with, refuse to accept diff ideas cuz they are "geniuses". Obsessed with obscure "optimized" solutions. Basically leetcode++ people.
@_Kinez_@valigo 3) take all the factors into picking a tech stack with self-awareness or selfish or whatever you want to call it.
It becomes super obvious I would pick React over native UI. Though I pretty sure users will shit on me for being shameless.
@_Kinez_@valigo 2) many devs are just "lazy" or "self-protective", they don't want to invest things that seems "no career future proof" (consider big techs will just lay you off, that skill has no value).
So even some devs want to build sth fast, it's blocked by the managers and other colleagues
@_Kinez_@valigo I remember Microsoft in the past posts a youtube video about criticizing React is being slow so they "fixed" it by getting rid of it in their Edge UI.
I'm like why the fk you guys put the whole React into the simple dropdown menu at the first place. It's so clickbait.
@_Kinez_@valigo When the app is super broken for user, now fixing it becomes a good ticket for next promotion.
For us, it's broken, for them, is certainly a "feature" for their next promotion.
Think in this way, somehow everything makes sense, lol.
Just my conspiracy based on experience.
@_Kinez_@valigo Everything need to convert to "measurable" ticket.
Feature or "visible result" is always the easy choice.
Perf is never the priority until the app is super broken for user.
All the managers, upper managers only want to see the result so they can put sth on resume and promo.
@ryanflorence@natenorberg Don't worry. A bunch of twitter senior designers will come to disagree with you.
If you are using tahoe (liquid glasses version), the search bar text will also overlap with the sidebar content during scrolling. Emphasizing Content they say.
@AmusingLuis@paytondev The worse part is the so called aesthetic/trend is periodic. So every 3-5 years they re-design everything again and call it "modern".
Every iteration causes "functionality/accessibility degradation"
Now many google/Microsoft product icons are extremely hard to distinguish.
@AmusingLuis@paytondev Many modern designers (especially many senior one in twitter bio) have 0 idea what design is.
Bootlick apple design but never think about the implication and choice behind.
Never think about the logo they made we click so many times daily. 0 functionality for so called aesthetic
@orcdev@shadcn "Cli doesn't work. I can't use shadcn. "
"U shouldn't touch those "auto-generated" component files."
The whole thing just becomes a shit show.
I certainly get the convenience of all the cli stuff, but underestimate the mental shift for some ppl is jaw-dropping. We are so back.
@orcdev@shadcn Unless you try to automate sth for certain processes.
Why can't ppl just copy-paste the exact component they want from the official website. You just do it once.
Tbh, lately the way ppl treat shadcn like regular ui lib. Don't want to fix/change anything inside is a dumpster fire
@MaxRovensky I mean, it always is.
I saw that saas guy who posted his bio age is 18, literally looks like a 35+ man.
Sure, you will have a healthy body via proper exercise. But don't fool yourself. You literally look older than many 40+ Asians. Respect physics and biology.
@valigo What's wrong with these people?
Humble brag ruining others' lives.
Those fking founders all act like they need to choose between sacrificing their families so they can save the earth.
@ky__zo@nizzyabi As someone who uses github website daily.
This redesign barely added any value to the current one. Other than letting you feel fresh.
The major design has no difference .
I immediately noticed many subtle space issues.
The key issue of GH web exists in the code review part.
