@neuroecology After all these replies, maybe you just don't like cafetiere coffee? 😀 I'm not a fan either for exactly the same reasons. If you want stronger coffee, use a different method. Aeropress for smoother coffee, Moka for more bitter, espresso for, well, espresso 😆

I'm selling my small table top coffee roaster, the GeneCafe, because I've got a larger roaster now. It's a great little entry level machine, even roasts, chaff collector bundled in. Perfect working order. Can deliver in #Norwich. £300 ONO before I hoss it on eBay.
