@NENextt@On3 I’m not the expert to explain what a federal anti-trust exemption means, but I know it massively changes the NCAA’s ability to make rules and not have them overturned by the courts.
Tonight the U.S. Senate passed the Protecting College Sports Act, through an overwhelming and bipartisan 77-22, vote! Congratulations and thank you to @tedcruz@SenatorCantwell, @Senator_Schmitt, @ChrisCoons, their staffs, and Senate Commerce staff. Also huge thanks to @realDonaldTrump, @WhiteHouse staff, the legendary Randy Levine and Nick Saban, Dary Stone, and thousands of athletes, hundreds of universities, dozens of conferences, and innumerable passionate fans who helped make history tonight.
This bill is a huge step forward in protecting opportunity, stability, and sustainability of this uniquely American institution - especially women’s sports, our Olympic programs, and the often-forgotten communities that revolve around and depend on college sports.
We strongly urge the House to move as quickly as possible and send this bill to the President’s desk!
@NENextt@On3 The whole point is to grant the NCAA an anti-trust exemption. That means that they CAN limit salaries of coaches and rev sharing with athletes because the courts have much more limited ability to rule against the NCAA
You’re too late Dan, but amazingly the normally progressive thoughts you’ve had in the past make so much sense here, yet you allow the talking heads and clickbait crowd to cloud your thinking. If ya think 🏈is great now, then ya should allow your mind to 🤔 outside the here and now, but into the future with one major negative that you’ve not seriously considered. Sustained success for CFB won’t be met with increasing costs that right now are on the verge of driving schools out of the 🏈business. That’s great for the elitists and nothing but brand name schools , but what about those teams and Conferences without whom the full schedules wouldn’t be complete? 24 is happening, the calendar will move backwards as it should to accommodate it, and we’ll end it by no later than the 1st or 2nd week of January, not close to February where it is now, causing @CFBPlayoff games to be subleased by its current rights holder! CFB is flourishing, but it’s doing so while hemorrhaging 💰and leaving tons of 🏦 on the table. The Defense for 24 rests 🎙️🎧🏈☝️
@clarencehilljr We know Clarence, and we don’t give a fuck. UT wanted the SEC soooo bad, now all they do is whine about how hard their schedule is. WTF does Tech have to do with that? The amount of spiteful energy UT shills spend criticizing Tech is mind boggling, we must really be picking u off
@vmirishfan10@CFBGuy999 According to ESPN 2027 class recruiting rankings, ND is #2 (23 commits) and Tech is #9 with only 17 commits (this will be a small class). So saying Tech cannot win in recruiting is dead fucking wrong.
@colecubelic@LandynRosow@UHCougarFB Hey Landon you deleted your tweet about “the Aggies and UT would beat Tech by 17” I noticed. Maybe you should have been worried about beating a mid-tier SEC team at home.
@PawsUpCoogs UH should get respect from the voters. Y’all have improved a lot since 2025 and your coach has your program headed in the right direction.
