Simplicity encourages us to depend more on God and to use His standards to measure our own lives. There is more to life than chasing worldly aspirations.
@GeneInvesting@VEGA_n1@tcb_dna In vivo programs will be significantly cheaper than ex vivo to take through development. They are able to derive revenue from foundational IP. I’ve listened to you enough to know you’re pragmatic and smart. My prediction is that you will be buying shares of $EDIT before mid-2027
@GeneInvesting@VEGA_n1@tcb_dna They may only have preclinical at the moment, but they have great IP (proprietary enzymes, proprietary LNP platform for delivery to Extrahepatic Tissues). In a FDA environment that allows platform designations, they will be growing a large pipeline very rapidly in 3 to 4 years.
@BowTiedBiotech This was the best thread I’ve read in five years! Excellent work and important topic. Thank you for taking the time to create this content! For those still paying attention in this space - THANK YOU!
@GeneInvesting@CrisprGlenn The Vertex-Editas deal predated the oral arguments by 5 months. Plus the courts decision to remand has no impact on the enforceability of Editas/Broad patents. The decision does not affect their ability to license their IP, nor does it change existing licenses they have issued…
@CrisprGlenn@GeneInvesting respectfully disagree. This result was not a surprise. It was a clear outcome based on what was said by the panel of three judges back during the oral arguments in May 2024. It doesn’t mean that PTAB will ultimately change their decision. I’m still buying $EDIT as much as a I can.
@zhaoweiasu@CaptainRisky7@paulg Thanks for the clarification. I agree that only a subset of genetic diseases could theoretically be addressed with this approach. But with over 5k monogenic diseases you only need a few percent to develop a healthy pipeline. But I agree, years from now, Gen1 will be limited. Thx
@zhaoweiasu@CaptainRisky7@paulg Sorry, but I’m not following your point. Why are you focusing on HDR? Many prospective editing treatments will not require HDR to work. Look at reni-cel for instance, that treatment focused on creating a functional homolog utilizing an edit that relies on NHEJ deletions.
@zhaoweiasu@CaptainRisky7@paulg Gen 1 often make edit that creates a functional homolog to address loss of function or deleterious mutations. This approach is mutation agnostic (all patients eligible for treatment). With Gen 3 (gene correction), only those patients with that exact single mutation are eligible.
@NoxStoxks@bkrudy@SJosephBurns As an aside, I don’t own #bitcoin, but if I did I would be praying that Satoshi Nakamoto never decides to cash in her/his 1.1 million coins. Watch how fast the “value” would drop with that kind of supply-demand imbalance for an asset with no intrinsic value.
@NoxStoxks@bkrudy@SJosephBurns Value at that moment in time, but without intrinsic value it can change in a very short period of time. To use a historical example, go research tulpenmanie (tulip mania in the 1630’s). There is no intrinsic value in crypto. It is a speculative bubble or asset bubble.
@scottsinvesting Gotcha, thx. Yep, this may be the dumbest thing I’ve ever done or the third most brilliant thing done (besides picking my wife & having my son). Either way, I’ll take full accountability. I have conviction but I don’t know whether it will work out. As I said, only time will tell.
