@Poet___Myst@deAdder Hmm.
Hopefully you can talk potential invaders into giving you time to develop a nuke and the capability to deliver it against a target.
@Poet___Myst@deAdder Do you actually think there'd be no threats to Canada if we weren't neighbors and allies with the US?
We need them WAY more than they need us.
We are not their equals and it's time for us to accept that and quit with the stupid Doug Ford false bravado. It's embarrassing.
@carol_nasvytis@deAdder@gill_godwin Lol. You're delusional.
They'd take key military and infrastructure objectives in hours and the majority of Canadians would do nothing because they can't.
Most of you armchair warriors who think we could put up a good fight don't even know how to use a gun ffs.
@Electric_Cory@cbcwatcher We didn't fold. We have no cards.
Anything we can do to exert pain on them hurts us as much or more.
They know it. Carney knows it too, but thinks we'll be in a better position after the US mid-terms.
Time will tell.
@Mauerback@cbcwatcher The alternative 'elbows-up' stupidity isn't working.
Maybe it's time to stop pretending we are negotiating from an equal position. We're not.
They have almost all the leverage. It's time to accept that and approach things from that perspective.
@melbyhz@cbcwatcher Her and Moe seem to be the only intelligent Premiers in the country.
Elbows-up Canadians need to stop thinking we are equals with the US. We are not. Not even close.
We need to get the best deal we can ASAP with the country we can thank for a large part of our living standard.
@HaganLeoni@melbyhz@cbcwatcher Ontarian here.
I'm not biting any bullets and I'm not willing to go without energy to fight a losing battle. I see no reason to punch myself in the face while sneering at the US.
The province would collapse and people would die.
@belder100@RoryClarkYqr@NickKouvalis Lol so you don't know why the fed gov had to buy and complete it.
Hint - nothing to do the Harper. It was a problem created by Trudeau's and he used billions of our tax dollars to fix it.
@CoastalKellyCA@K9Dgk@NickKouvalis Cool.
Let's create a regulatory environment that majes us attractive for private capital so taxpayers don't have to pay for O&G infrastructure.
@NickKouvalis Global demand is irrelevant if we can't get it to them.
We have no leverage because we can't store it and we can't quickly increase exports overseas.
Are you suggesting we leave it in the ground and inflict more pain on ourselves than we do them?
Quit playing elbows-up stupid.
Canada has quietly signed the UN Cybercrime Convention, a treaty it once opposed given fears of expanded state surveillance. The US, Japan, New Zealand, and the Netherlands still haven't signed. Russia, China, and Iran signed on day one. What is happening?

So either Prime Minister Mark Carney didn't understand the Gordie Howe International Bridge deal he agreed to, or he misled Canadians about it. It's hard to believe a former governor of the Banks of Canada and England, and chair of Brookfield, didn't understand the deal.
@MaxPrince99@brianlilley It's a well thought out and logical thread.
