@DoyleMcPoyle6@TimGavrich@chadmumm I played that course a lot as a junior. They make conscious decisions with water management so the parts you want to be lush are.
@MidwestGolfJake Kapalua was a tournament my dad an I liked forward to each year. And then I treated him to a round there. I get that this year it wasn’t ready but it’s a fun course to play and to watch. It will be missed.
@MidwestGolfJake no. it was a great joke. some of the best players have the “worst” swings. No one would teach Scottie that footwork for example. Phil has soft legs through impact. Seve was all over the place. Jack’s swing has always been unique to him.
@ColtKnost@JoshACarpenter Fair, Colt. More shots are good. I would rather listen to this than a conversation about the stakes for every player, the history of the tournament, or a walking interview. But appreciated that many don’t talk. We’ve all had tournament rounds where all is said is “you or me?”
@MidwestGolfJake What’s your driver at? If it’s under 230 then add a wedge. If it’s over then add something to bridge to the gap. Your 3W is just taking up space.
@ScratchInMirror@MintzGolf This is an interesting idea. A full length course with a 20 yard hole and a 900 yard hole and a…
That would be fun for us normal folk playing against our group, but kind of impossible when tracking where you stand in a tournament. “Mike took 49 shots through 11, I took 44”
@MidwestGolfJake True, but par should be readily attainable without heroics. If the expected way to play the hole is hit it into the greenside rough, get lucky with a decent lie, and get up and down for par, that isn’t really “par”.
@FT I say this with love to my British friends as an American who in London every few months: you are inconsistent on when to walk left or right. Tunnel to E Line: left. Tunnel in KX: right. stairs from the tube: depends. I will do what locals do, but that’s hard to determine.
@topskillsportuk American PL fan here. Don’t really care for the NFL but I’ll watch it when it’s on. It was its usual spectacle.
But the end of the LIV-MC match was bananas. Even my wife who detests proper football said, “What was that craziness?”
