@Catheri20311202@MhairiHunter Rolling out driving training would be very beneficial too along with licensing scheme for the "professiona"l drivers/idiots who should be perfectly capable of avoiding pavements and knowing what red lights are.
@lewis_goodall I had a lovely FREE trip to London in the summer. My train was late and I had every penny refunded through delay- repay. You should try it! 😉
@AlistairBike It's hugely disappointing when you discover that you don't live in a "key neighbourhood " and therefore can't have protected cycle lanes. 😢
@VonnSand@FietserGlasgow@ScottishLabour If there were more cycle lanes there would be less potholes since they are caused by too many cars on the road. I'd love to cycle more and drive but there is zero safe cycling infrastructure in my part of Glasgow. Cutting active travel budgets is totally short sited.
@wyllie_cameron@PidginPosting@MhairiHunter You have clearly never been to the Netherlands. Tons of pensioners on bikes and many people in adapted bikes who clearly have disabilities. Also, kids there have freedom to cycle alone because it's safe so they are more resilient and independent. It's a win win.
I'm going to do a thread about Glasgow, potholes & how supporting safe cycling (& walking) can help, which will probably make a lot of people shout at me.
@Alison_S_Taylor@heraldscotland Many of your constituents, including me, would leave the car at home more often if they could travel safely on a direct route along PRW/ Glasgow road either to Paisley town or Glasgow city centre.
@Alison_S_Taylor@heraldscotland As one of your Glasgow constituents, I'm afraid that your traffic centric,#motornormativity, means that I won't be voting for you in the future. We need to rethink how we get around. Start campaigning for better active travel routes along Glasgow road and Paisley rd west.
Plans for a 2.7km #ActiveTravel route between Govan–Partick Bridge and Pollok Country Park are now open for consultation. The proposals include safer and more accessible public spaces, and better links to greenspace and local transport hubs.

@Alison_S_Taylor No it's not. We get lots of benefits that others in the UK don't have because we pay a few pounds extra in tax. I know what I'd rather do. Why are labour so Tory these days?
@is_glasgow Was chatting to a wee man in Rosshall park about Cardonald Palace a few months ago. It was the first time we'd heard of it and we thought he was making it up. 🙈 Just shows how little we know about where we have lived all our lives. 🙈
