@knifesaintkris@JonathanM_507@twolonelystarss My best guess (based off other starstruck discourse) is ppl mad that Skip (as a brain slug) "takes Norman's bodily autonomy away" and the rest of the cast is just fine with that
"If what you want is a centrist campaign that's quiet on trans issues, tough on the border, distances itself from Palestinians, talks a lot about law and order, and reaches out to moderate Republicans, that candidate existed and she just lost"
~John Oliver on dems moving right
Nancy Pelosi: “The election was not a rebuke of Democrats.”
Chuck Schumer: “Kamala’s historic campaign & vision inspired millions."
DNC Chair: “Bernie is wrong. Democrats didn’t abandon the working class.”
There will be no introspection. The party will not change. Get out now.
"The Democratic Party has moved too far left"
No it hasn't and last time it actually did move significantly leftwards Americans liked it so much they gave the president 4 terms.
You need universal programs. You need to tax the rich. You need to boldly lean into class warfare.
People can viscerally feel that our economic and political system is broken.
If Democrats keep refusing to label and fight the REAL enemy (the billionaire class), then Republicans will keep spreading the lie that immigrants and trans people are the enemy. And the lie will work.
the leftist position is that people’s positions, even if horrific, have roots in their material reality. the liberal position as best i can tell is that 20-30% of the country has an irredeemably evil soul. i guess im going with the one you could actually do something about.
Weird. Seems like the groups most rapidly fleeing the Democratic coalition are the exact ones where Bernie Sanders was strongest (working class, Latinos, Bros!). Maybe that guy was onto something!
