BREAKING: FIFA announced Tuesday that tailgating will be prohibited at several major U.S. venues during the 2026 World Cup this summer.
According to Bleacher Report, fans won’t be allowed to gather for pregame tailgates outside Arrowhead Stadium, Gillette Stadium, and Lincoln Financial Field, among others.
At Gilette Stadium specifically — organizers outlined the rule in a match-day checklist for the Boston 2026 World Cup, stating that "traditional 'tailgating' (eating and drinking around parked cars) is not permitted for these events."
Instead of tailgating, organizers suggested fans attend activities within the secure areas before and after a match, including a "Stadium Fan Experience" that is exclusive to ticket holders. Organizers also suggested visiting nearby restaurants, bars and shops at Patriot Place.
Introducing the new 2026 Home kit, the Eighth State Kit! The kit connects club and state history as the Triumph enter their 8th season, honoring South Carolina as the 8th state to join the Union.
Eight tonal hoops symbolize both milestones, with design nods to the 2021 checkered home kit and 2025 third kit. Featuring a South Carolina flag beneath the collar and a custom Eighth State hip tag, the kit celebrates the shared pride of club, community, and state.

Impossible to imagine a world where the Washington Post is better without its sports section and the people who put it together. Just an unconscionable decision.

The @washingtonpost is how I've stayed connected to D.C. sports since moving back to Greenville years ago. The coverage is phenomenal, and it pales in comparison to the work they do on topics far more important than sports. Thinking of all those staffers amidst the uncertainty.
