A few reasons why PG isn't the right solution.

Standardized testing:
There is no system in place to differentiate between the difficulty teachers test students at.
Some teachers give harder tests than others so their PG may be weaker than a

Imagine being 10 points off your first choice last year, going to college, hate it then dropping out in NOVEMBER to decide to go back and repeat, take up 3 new subjects, go to school 9-9,6 days a week away from home for someone else to decide my future.. thanks lads #LeavingCert

If Leaving Cert had been cancelled ‘74 and replaced by class work I would not be a doctor and probably not a graduate. We have 55k candidates, 60k teachers 700 schools. We can’t organise multiple small sittings? Rationalise 2 paper exams-1? Televisual orals?

Can’t believe what’s happening with the Leaving Cert, as a student who’s struggled with mental health it’s had a knock on effect on my attendance/motivation. The actual Leaving Cert is what I was working to, my way out, now my grade is being calculated from my past!? Fuck off

To Everyone saying it's the fairest thing they could have done:
If I'm not mistaken, you can't sit the exam after an appeal until you're already in college or have got your course.
It's PG or Repeat.
Wouldn't call that fair.

Cabinet has rejected @McHughJoeTD's suggestion for the cancellation of the #LeavingCert2020.
It is no longer likely for an announcement of the #LeavingCert to be made today.

The entire purpose of PG was that if you were unhappy you could sit the exam.
Now our only choice is to be unhappy because we don't get the opportunity to prove ourselves.
Just went 100-150 points lower then I was hoping.
