@MartinSLewis Hi Martin. Watching the WASPI women issue. National Insurance is accrued by year paid. This is reinforced when missed years are purchased. It occurs to me that there is an implied contract for each year connecting it to a retirement age. Has this been legally tested
@RichardJMurphy I have followed you with interest on youtube. I feel I understand a lot of what you disagree with! My question is - what country in the world is getting its politics right in your view?
@paullewismoney@theipaper Why doesn’t the NI year of payment determine the state retirement age 🤔 many years were accrued with the expectation of earning a specific retirement. For my wife the NI years paid were for retirement at 60 not 67.
The fact is that wherever implemented the public show acceptance of 20mph limits by raising their right foot. The consequences are lower casualties, lower insurance claims, less noise, easier walking and cycling, and calmer communities. In Wales there was a 29% reduction in casualties and a 20% reduction in insurance accident damage claims in the first 6 months of implementation.
