@Nicole_Lee_Sch Insurance companies already deny a bunch and process claims slowly. If AI can speed things up and get you talking to a human faster, that’s a good thing. A blanket aversion to AI tools is silly and detracts from conversations about implementing it responsibly.

@MileHighIlya 3. People engage in a ton of behaviors/activities that cause harm. Not arguing for bans, but there should be regulation to protect vulnerable people. Society should rightly acknowledge the substantial harm that emotional dependence on AI can cause and try to prevent it.

@MileHighIlya 1. Of course AI didn’t cause loneliness, but it can exploit it and further isolate people from others.

2. The objective of these companies is to eventually make money. You have to see it’s bad that people have the loves of their lives owned and controlled by a company?

@MileHighIlya These sort of things are organic manifestations of the human experience. AI relationships are a more sinister inorganic construct that exploits people’s loneliness, separates individuals from other people, all for the monetary benefit of a corporation.

@MileHighIlya Bad take. First part is true, that broader structures predispose people to crafting these sorts of AI relationships. But furries and fanfic are just so different. Those are communities of PEOPLE, engaging in hobbies, activities, or relationships centered with other HUMANS.
