Today, one day after The Clearing House selected Quant for interoperability, orchestration and transaction management, Citi released a new report detailing what the initiative is actually being built to support.

Citi says The Clearing House is working with:

• Citi • JPMorgan • Bank of America • BNY • BMO • HSBC • Citizens • Fifth Third

The objective is real-time, 24/7 movement of tokenized deposits across institutions, building on existing RTGS and CHIPS infrastructure clearing more than $2 trillion per day.

Citi says interoperable bank-issued tokenized deposits can solve the fragmentation problem that has kept tokenized cash in single-bank silos.

The report points toward:

• Atomic delivery-versus-payment
• Smart contract-driven margin top-ups
• 24/7 global collateral mobility
• Tokenized Treasuries and bank deposits operating together

Citi calls interchangeable tokenized deposits across major institutions “transformational.”

Yesterday, Quant was selected to help orchestrate this infrastructure.

The timing of these two announcements is hard to ignore. It's almost as if this document was planned for release around yesterdays announcement.
