Here is an overview of the 850 MW Ratle Hydro Power Project being built on the Chenab River in Jammu & Kashmir. This video shows all the key components of the project coming together on-site.

The MEIL Group is handling the heavy engineering for this run-of-the-river facility. The footage shows the actual work on the ground, from the deep powerhouse excavation and tunnel networks to the construction of the 133-metre gravity dam and hydro-mechanical setups.

Instead of a massive reservoir, this entire system is designed to use the natural flow of the river to supply over 3,100 million units of clean electricity every year. Isn’t that amazing?

Back then, the yatra demanded time, endurance, & faith. The journey wasn’t incidental; it WAS the pilgrimage.

Today, access is easier. And that’s a good thing because it opens the experience to many more.

But perhaps something still needs preserving?

The ability to slow down & savour the experience of traveling.

Because journeys are about who we become along the way.
