Hot on the heels of widespread Labour defeat comes Luke Charters MP proposals for a ‘youth triple lock’. He says “young people are a generation with their backs against the wall”.
How then do you justify removing benefits from disabled under 22s⁉️
The Department for Work and Pensions has increased the number of disabled claimants who will face fewer reviews of their eligibility for personal independence payment.

These stunts sicken me. That’s all they are, stunts. How many blind people regularly walk round with an entourage and a bloody cameraman to keep them safe? Ban black shades face.
Now the MP for York Outer’s turn to cosplay at being blind. Suggest his time would be better spent investigating why actual blind people are having their benefits miscalculated by DWP. My Sight York does valuable work but this is not part of it. Not consistent with #SocialModel

And 60% worry that if disabled people are living in poverty, with benefits being cut, they may turn to assisted suicide rather than struggle financially. For disabled people polled, that figure is 70%.
Disabled ppl were recently asked by @YNYCombined what we wanted to see at York station. What nobody asked for was the concourse to be turned into a performance area with crowds blocking egress & the passenger assist area shunted into the corner with nowhere to sit #AccessFail
** Reduced water bills for disabled households announced **
Low-income disabled households with a water meter will get reduced water bills as part of reform to the WaterSure scheme in England and Wales.
Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Attendance Allowance will join the list of qualifying benefits for the scheme, the government has announced.
A change to price cap rules will also see most existing WaterSure claimants save up to £100 each.
The reforms will come into force in early 2027. Water companies in England must adopt the changes, but in Wales the changes will be voluntary.

Leading psychiatrists across North Yorkshire have warned “assisted dying” (#assistedsuicide) legislation making its way through Parliament could undermine the very principles of mental health care.

To most people, data isn’t sexy. But bear with us while we get our geek on!
Data shapes town planning.
Planning shapes access.
When Disabled people aren’t in the data, we’re not in the plan.
That's where our research comes in.
Better insight. Better planning. Better access.
