Why is @LNER still discriminating against disabled passengers. I had a confirmed ticked and passenger assist assistance booked on the 11pm train. The issue was that the signs for the platform for not displayed and when I got to the train they allowed a disabled person onto the train but the one of the crew ended up shouting and humiliating me. Why do we allow this @UKLabour

I always tell my business friends that if you want to be influential in the political arena, then stop being just a donor waiting for gratitude, and go to the elections yourself, win and then do what you think is necessary. Only by becoming a politician can you change the world without risking losing your business and influence. Elon Musk did not understand this and quickly lost a lot, but he still has a good chance to prove by going through the elections to the Senate or Congress that he is changing the rules of the game. And I wish him great success!

@LNER I am just asking what benefit does train manager get for behaving like this as it’s totally at their discretion. It clearly shows that @lner are unprepared to deal with disabilities, very sad! Quite disappointing!!

How low can @LNER get with handling disabled passengers. The ticket inspector when checking my ticket we realised my disabled persons railcard had expired in November. I went on the app to renew it but she didn’t allow me do that but instead charged me the difference in the fair. I am lucky that I can afford it but seriously is this the way to handle and care about your passengers. #lner #disgusted #disabled #train #passenger

@LNER Is this policy not vague. Why are you not allowed to correct your oversight and renew the railcard immediately? What benefit does the train manager get when they get disabled customer to get a new ticket or pay the difference?

Yes it would be at the discretion of the Train Manager but what training do they get and how are they monitored.

Rather then leaving it to the whims and discretion of Train Managers are you not better having a concise policy where the passenger is given the opportunity to renew their rail card.

@LNER I agree but why not allow the passenger to purchase the railcard which only takes a few minutes. The inspector could clearly see my wheelchair. I just believe the inspector was on a power trip.

On Wednesday, I was hugely honoured to receive the Knighthood of the Order of St. Agatha of San Marino at the In & Out Naval and Military Club, London, presented by my dear friend, Honorary Consul, Professor Maurizio Bragagni OBE.

The Republic gave the award in recognition of my support to the Consul during Covid-19, and for my role as Co-Chair of Ability2Win, the campaign to improve the political representation of disabled people in the UK.

This is one of the greatest honours of my life. I would like to thank the Consulate, the Republic and the people of San Marino for their kindness, hospitality, and everything they have done for me. I greatly look forward to working with the Consulate and upholding the values of The Order, now and always.
