The Victoria Falls-Bulawayo road is a death trap! It infuriates me every single time.
This road leads to Zimbabwe’s top tourist destination and one of the Seven Wonders of the World 🤬
Is it because the big dogs fly in or their Land Cruisers don’t feel the potholes or is the road just in the ‘wrong’ province? What is it?
Then the audacity of ZINARA to raise toll fees while the roads are in this condition? That’s worth studying at PhD level because WOW. Where is the shame??? How many people (and cars) must die before something is done? Yeses! 🚮
Anyway…
NB: The highway passing Hwange is closed for a good stretch. There are no road signs indicating this so please slow down when approaching Hwange.
There is an off-road on your right, when driving from Bulawayo to Victoria Falls.
Don’t take that road (unless you have a high clearance car or you don’t really love your car much). Trust me, we learnt the hard way on our way to Victoria Falls.
Rather turn left into Hwange town after the Chicken Inn on your left and drive through town. Go around until you pass the street with churches at the other end of town, then re-join the highway from there.
Driving from Victoria Falls to Bulawayo, turn right into Hwange and read what I wrote from bottom to top.
I couldn’t take proper pictures. I was too busy driving and being angry at ZINARA for having the audacity to increase toll gate fees yet the roads are death traps like this 😡
Bulawayo to Victoria Falls:
Frame 2: Drive back and go and turn into Hwange town instead.
Frame 3: That’s where you’ll rejoin and continue to Vic Falls.
Frame 4: Stop oversleeping. Catch the sunrise lawe for once.
Frame 1: Stomach in, chest out, pop a hip and smile. Because the roads may be bad but God is good 😁
🟣The 4th President that Mozambique has had since its Independence from Portugal, His Excellency Filipe Nyusi, gave an important speech when he came to officially open the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show earlier this week.
He talked about how he will leave power this year after serving his two-terms which is the limit under the Mozambican Constitution. He will step down to pave the way for the election of a new leader.
This is an important message to Mr Mnangagwa and Zanu PF. Unconstitutionally clinging onto power or mangling the Constitution so you can stay in power is something the region turns its nose up at.
Why don’t we just do the right thing? Surely, as chair of SADC, we must be exemplary when it comes to upholding constitutionally-imposed limits on power?
We need new leaders.🇿🇼
@nickmangwana The government and the mayor are accomplices in the money laundering and corruption business. Tell us how much money has been thrown down the black hole in the Chitepo School of Brainwashing Scheme (CSBS).
@GutuObert Economics does not need indoctrination. The ZIG cannot be forced on the market rather the mechanism of the market dictates the importance attached to any currency. Until all unorthodox economic antics in Zimbabwe stops the ZIG will never stand the economic trying times.
@cmatewu This is a travesty of justice when mayors attend a brainwashing school of ideology authored by people who have failed the livelihood of millions of Zimbabweans. Mr Mafume that certificate has its rightful place in the bin
🟣In the spirit of piecing things together, do you recall in @AJEnglish’s Gold Mafia documentary how smugglers were exempted from search at the airport?
Now that some of those allegedly implicated in the documentary have their own access points to and demarcated sections of the airport, what impact might this have on potential smuggling and looting of gold and other resources?
We need new leaders.🇿🇼
We are talking of very serious allegations of Terrorism here. This is not the Zimbabwe we want. This is not how democratic disputations should happen. An unlawful use of violence against property to intimidate or coerce Govt is a crime never be tolerated

@GutuObert@cohsunshinecity The deterioration of Harare city is a pure reflection of a failed government in Zimbabwe. Madyira dont concentrate on treating the symptoms of a disease while ignoring the source .
