Great to do first TEER case today with @BashirAlaour and @MahmoudiMichael at Southampton Spire hospital. Imaging: Paul Diprose and GA: Andy Curry. Great result. Good to now offer this service to Spire patients. Thanks to Thelma and great @spirehealthcare team & @EdwardsLifesci
I've been trying with the BMA research team to produce one graph to rule them all. Real terms pay with inflation indexed on the same graph. Look at the CPI dotted line, our pay, the average public sector worker, worker & our comparators. It's not pretty! ONS & NHS digital

Fully trained interventional cardiologists @BCIS_uk have been offering to train to help deliver mechanical thrombectomy for stroke here for 5 years now (following precedent set in many other countries) but are thwarted by protectionism & politics. 😳. Let’s put Patients first?!
Those of us that desperately wanted change...
That really wanted a change in direction of the RCP...
That wanted greater respect & consideration towards our doctors in training...
Will be bitterly disappointed this evening

The recurrence rates for symptomatic AF surely demand a rethink about the application of ablation to this population? Isn’t it time to find out who is likely to benefit & who isn’t? Do the patients with recurrence get advised to have it again?
