I’m the first to call out #manels, I’ve penned an editorial on #genderequity in #academicnephrology BUT nomination for election to #PRCP is self nomination
I do not believe any #womaninmedicine was prevented from nominating themselves
The issue is why more #women don’t put themselves forward for leadership roles - that continues to need addressing
But once you get to the final group, you have to vote for the best person for the position, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, religion or any other protected characteristic
And indeed why not celebrate that several of the candidates are people of colour?
