My entire scientific career I have been cautioning against climate doomerism. It’s dangerously unhealthy for young people and leads into apathy.
Humanity won on ozone depletion. Much of the world has been successful on acid rain and air pollution. Climate is winnable.

Progress isn't linear in every place, and having one country/city/place get up to speed quickly means they can lead by example. A lot of progress gets stalled when people say "but others worse."
There's seemingly a lot of anger or ridicule about some LGBTQ dialogue in Dragon Age The Veilguard.

my sister chelsey & her boyfriend were hit on their motorcycle by a drunk off duty cop in my hometown of springfield illinois. the cops at the scene turned off their body cams and fed the drunk officer water and gum to sober him up for 6+ hours & only gave him a traffic ticket
