Founder @BeaconCap, engineer, VC, reluctant social media participant, believes engineer founders & those who think like them will make the world a better place
@CathieDWood Not provocative at all. Common sense and never a truer statement. Imagine never to have to think in Boolean terms again when you are trying to find the answer to a question. That’s ChatGBT. A whole layer of complexity removed from our daily lives.
Provocative. During the last few years, I have expressed my frustration with Google search, deeming it primitive AI, notwithstanding Alphabet’s DeepMind expertise. OpenAI/Microsoft’s ChatGPT is the “iPhone moment” of this decade, changing everything. Disruptive innovation!

The last couple of years have greatly accelerated dealmaking pace and due diligence moved to the background - it’s been extreme sports without showing up for practice ⛷️
How should founders think about DD moving forward? ⤵️

Well done to our very own @zachalexander1 for being featured in the Forbes 30under30 Finance. I am sure this is only the beginning of the beginning for him!🙌
What a way to start a new month! A huge congrats to @zachalexander1 for the Forbes 30under30 Finance feature!🏆
Zach embodies everything Beacon stands for and we couldn't have done it without him for the last 2+ years!

At Beacon we believe founders’ liquidity needs to be baked in from the early stages - this is one of the largest untapped opportunities in Europe and vastly beneficial for founders and VC funds alike. Read on:

@dougscott It depends what you define as “political play”; if anything involving politicians is a play then I suppose you are right. Surely though there is a part of the spectrum where it is not political play but principles that need to be defended, no?
@alexdunsdon @iamshujoshi Mental maths can be extraordinarily boring. Abstract maths are infinitely more exciting but annoyingly you have to go through the former in the early years to be “allowed” I to the magic of the latter later on. They should consider reversing the order.
@alexdunsdon Sadly, I was a geek, learning almost everything the teachers were putting in front of me. I wish I had spent more time learning to be selective.
No one does it like Bertrand Russell! He had the answer to the question “what will the world post #COVID19 look like?” before we even had the question. How unbelievably brilliant. Thank you @pilgrimbeart for sharing this with me

Sign of the times...I just watched two young men (2 separately and obviously not together) walking down the road with a bunch of flowers in one hand and a pack of loo rolls under the other arm. Ahhh must be Mother's Day 2020! 🤣
Let’s all ( Greeks, Italians, other Europeans and not) try to think three moves ahead and one month from now. We manufacture our future. Let’s not be one move chess players. Stop fleeing to the countryside.
Much like the Italians, the Athenians fled to the Greek countryside yesterday with their families and a Covid-19 carrier or two at the back seat. It is one’s right to ensure the safety of one’s family. But what happens when one’s right becomes another one’s existential threat?
So far the south of Italy has had fewer than 5% of cases. But thousands of potential carriers fled the north as the virus spread https://t.co/o6bePZCBSJ
This comparative graph from #WHO may help us put #CoronaVirus into perceptive: needs careful management, we have the tools and previous experience, heads down, let’s get on with it
I test drove my first ever @Model3Tesla, marvellous piece of engineering priced for mass market adoption but an odd experience for a petrol head: thrilling acceleration without the beloved IC engine humming. I will miss my petrol car in the same way I miss my #Nokia 5146
