Dr. Borthakur joined the Department of Civil Engineering in 2023 after receiving his doctorate from @UCLA_CEE and completing a postdoc at @umnCEGEtweets. His research focuses on water treatment, recovering resources from wastes, and the movement of PFAS and microplastics.
We are grateful to have hosted Larry Novak with the @slu_official@ASCETweets Student Chapter to discuss the design and construction of the Burj Khalifa. His insights into the world’s tallest building left us inspired and amazed. Thank you for sharing your passion and expertise!
The @SLU_SSE 1700 - Engineering Fundamentals final project poster session is underway in the ISE building. Come see the @SLU_Official freshmen engineering students present their Mars projects from 2-6 today.
It’s time for the @SLU_Civil concrete bowling ball competition. 9:15-10:30 Friday morning.
@SLUPresident want to come bowl with the civil engineering students?

Congratulations to Hana Baban for successfully defending her master’s thesis this past week. The title of her thesis was “Measuring Full Field Three-Dimensional Strains in Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer (FRP).” Hana also works as a structural engineer at Jacobs. @SLU_SSE
Engineering Fundamentals students learned to develop modulated sound patterns on their Computer Engineering Day. This is a demonstration of how computers use modulated energy to transmit data to each other. @SLU_SSE@SLU_Official#SLUComputerEngineering#ExperientialLearning
Congrats to our @SLU_Official Civil Engineering Student Athletes Maddy Kieffer, Abby Cibulka, Carly Sear, and Gabbie Kowalik (not pictured) for making straight A’s in one or both of the two previous semesters. @ParksCollegeSLU #SLUCivilEngineering#StudentAthletes
