@TAhillan Not sure where you're based - it was a while ago now, but Northwick Park has a fab ID department and was an amazing place to do (what was then) CMT
@TAhillan Not a massive advantage I don't think. You need to demonstrate commitment to specialty but lots of ways to do that without an ID job. It would definitely be useful to have at least one job in a hospital with an ID department so you can make contacts - useful for getting 1/2

Dear π¬π§,
A vote for the @Conservatives is a vote to kill the NHS. After 13 years of running the NHS into the ground, they have sacrificed your public health for their private wealth for far too long. If you value your family's safety, never vote for them ever again.

@LondonAllergy a question from a medic mums group if that's OK! For those of us who don't eat whitefish/shellfish, is it reasonable to just not introduce them when weaning? Or are we significantly increasing allergy risk by avoiding? Everyone is very on it with peanuts/egg π
The UK govt's approach to migration is cruel and inhumane.
The absence of safe routes and the criminalisation of people seeking safety force more people to risk their lives at sea β with devastating effects.
RT or QT this to tell @SuellaBraverman we need safe routes now!
Very disappointed that I am being told
@PearsonVUE
cannot accommodate for me to express milk for my 12 week old when sitting the #ESEGH. Delaying exam by an 1hr isn't really good enough (1/2)
the advice to not announce a pregnancy until 12 weeks+ is insidious. pregnant ppl need accommodation in those early weeks, because of debilitating nausea & because they might have a miscarriage. this rule perpetuates the idea that pregnancy only counts if it results in a child.
Nurses have had a real-terms pay cut for >10 years. The work they do is foundational to society & they should get a bigger pay rise than what they are asking for & I hope they get it #NHS
