Don’t fall for the fake Fox/GOP outrage. Two weeks ago the House passed a bill that greenlighted the transfer of Spanish territory to Morocco. Every Republican except me voted for it, but now THEY are acting shocked at the invasion.

Uber Eats and DoorDash hid tip buttons and set default tips below 10%. As a result, tips for delivery workers fell 79%.
In January, we made these corporations change their apps — and in the past six months, we've put $104 million back in delivery workers' pockets.
This is only the beginning.
So China’s basic response is:
If the United States were still confident in its own competitiveness, it would not need to turn every Chinese civilian project into a national security emergency.
A port becomes a threat.
A railway becomes a threat.
A telecom network becomes a threat.
Even an undersea cable becomes a weapon.
China builds infrastructure.
Washington builds panic around it.
America no longer asks whether a Chinese project works.
It asks how quickly it can be killed before the world notices it works better.
When an empire can no longer lead, it tries to cripple those who can.
The thing about watching a superpower decline in real time is that it is not dramatic.
People expect drama.
The fall of the Berlin Wall. The helicopter leaving Saigon. A moment.
Decline is not a moment.
It is Walmart shelves that were stocked with Chinese manufacturing for so long that when the tariffs came there was no American factory to replace the supply chain because the factory closed in 1987 and the people who worked there are in their seventies.
It is allies who say the right things in the communiqué and then go home and make other arrangements.
It is a currency that is still dominant but whose dominance is for the first time in eighty years a subject of active international planning to reduce.
It is a military that has not won a major war since 1945 but whose budget keeps growing because the budget is not about winning wars, it is about the domestic economy of the congressional districts where the weapons are built.
It is a political class so consumed by the internal contradictions the empire generates at home, the inequality, the racial reckoning, the infrastructure crisis, the opioid epidemic, the debt, that it cannot maintain the sustained attention that running the world actually requires.
It is slow. It is administrative.
It is the texture of daily life changing at a pace that is visible only in retrospect.
And in the middle of it, making it loud and visible and impossible to ignore, is Trump.
The decline did not produce him.
The decline is him.
The genocide of Jewish people called “holocaust”
The genocide of Native Americans called “discovery”
The genocide of Palestinian called “self-defense”
The genocide of Lebanese called “security threat”
Language matters. A genocide is unjustifiable wherever happens. Never again
Israel is the only country in the world that can bomb 9 countries and invade 3 neighboring countries in one year; kill 100,000 people—including 25,000 children—in 1,000 days; displace nearly 6 million people in 3 countries; starve 2 million people in Gaza; violate Geneva and Vienna Conventions, international law, human rights, and state sovereignty; kidnap, rape and torture children and women; shoot, imprison and murdering; and still be perceived as the victim.
