October is National Liver Awareness Month. To kick it off let’s talk about #MASLD (formally fatty liver disease). #MASLD which can be asymptomatic, affects 1 in 3 adults in the United States. Risk factors include overweight/obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia.
AASLD & fellow Liver Societies issued a statement promoting a non-stigmatizing, person-centered approach within #hepatology. It addresses terminology related to #alcohol & #liver-related mobility and mortality, and stigmas associated with it https://t.co/pIFe2wBoUf #LiverTwitter
